FilingWire Funding API — Terms of Use, Data Source & Disclaimer

Last updated: 2026-07-17 (product renamed to FilingWire Funding API; terms otherwise unchanged)

In these Terms, "we" / "us" / "the API" refer to the FilingWire Funding API and its operator; "you" means the user accessing it. Contact: hello@filingwire.io.

1. What this API provides

The FilingWire Funding API returns interpreted funding signals derived from public SEC EDGAR Form D filings — the issuer, amount raised, sector, location, exemption, and filing dates. It returns derived signals only, parsed from the structured Form D XML, and every record carries a source_url back to the original filing on EDGAR. It does not return raw filing text. This is a standalone product, separate from the FilingWire Risk API (SEC 8-K), which has its own terms.

2. Data source & attribution

3. Personal data

We store business information only — issuer names, public filing metadata, and amounts. Personal names (e.g., Form D related persons / signatories) are stripped during ingestion and are never stored or served. The API exposes no personal or contact data.

4. Accuracy, freshness & "no advice" disclaimer

5. Acceptable use

6. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any decision made in reliance on the data. Total liability is limited to the fees paid for this API in the prior 1 month.

7. Changes & contact

We may update the data, endpoints, or these terms; material API changes will be versioned (/v1, /v2, …). Questions: hello@filingwire.io.
